Literature Text
on the far side of the river
where it curves
the water
pushes farther onto the land
and turns
it to mud
I write your name into it
with my foot
limping in half steps
the way wounded animals move
feeling your name
harden in my throat
I gouge the shape of it
into the squelching earth
over and over
until your facelessness
coats
the riverbank
first with my heel
then with a broken stick
and finally on my knees
I draw each syllable
out
with my fingers,
touching them to my lips
every time
it's
finished.

Literature
Metta
Sometimes
when I fear that no one knows me,
I remind myself:
You are stars and indigo
jewel blue
and wide-ruled lines.
And this isn't loneliness.
It’s a delight to be a mystery.
No one can know your soul,
how it seeps into the cracks and crevasses of the world,
what little thrills it will delight in.
It's yours alone.
Literature
Chrysanthemums
fresh-cut grass
mingles with chrysanthemums
a windchime sings
Literature
relic
the eastern sky wakes -
so begins the dawn chorus
as i sip on cups
of bitter, gothic coffee;
trying to recall a dream.
